Meet the Interior Designer: Angela Wilson-Keel
A native of the southern Outer Banks in North Carolina, Angela moved to Southwest Florida in 2013. Prior to that, she owned and operated a flooring store, Keel's Floor Fashions & Design Center which was located in Newport, NC. Angela graduated from Sheffield's School of Interior Design in New York City on November 1st, 2000. She worked for 12 years designing houses with her husband Captain Stuart Keel in Onslow, Carteret and Johnston County selling flooring, window treatments, wallpaper, as well as art and area rugs. After that, she studied two more years with Carol Bosquet-Chop who is a world renowned designer from Florida. In 2013, the Keel's decided they wanted to relocate to Florida and started a tour operation, Gulf Island Tours, LLC. Though Angela loves being a tour operator, she also felt a huge void and found she just didn't want to completely quit decorating houses. She actually started designing houses as a young child because her father was a builder and her mother designed more than 50 houses in Johnston County in the late 60's and early 70's. Her mother quickly saw Angela had a special ability so as young as 9, Angela was selecting kitchens and designing bathrooms right beside her mother. Her designs are always "nature inspired" being from the southern Outer Banks. She loves all things nautical, tropical, and likes to throw in a little bit of Bohemian accents to liven things up. She has sailed with her husband and their Chinese Crested dog "Mojito" on their 45 foot yacht to the Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands and to Key West. Her favorite themes are "British Colonial" decor mixed with "Salt Life" themes with a side kick of Bohemian. She loves above all helping people and wants everyone to have their own "coastal dream house" at the lowest cost possible.
